Running the most right-wing “populist” campaign in Democratic primary history wasn’t enough for you.

Pandering to the worst of the racist hardhats and hard core right-wing rednecks was bad enough.

Playing upon your female status and Bill’s former power in order to be annointed with the nomination just couldn’t cut it.

And even with all that not working, and you getting your sorry self blown out by an upstart rookie Black US Senator who simply had a better strategy and a better message than you…you just couldn’t take the hint and get out while you were behind.

Instead, you just took a brush fire….and promptly dropped a nuke on it.

OK…so  I might be willing to take your excuse and half-hearted “apology” that you were only quoting Robert Kennedy’s assassination as a chronological point to say that presidential campaigns can continue long into the summer.  Fine enough….except that RFK in 1968 was a late arrival in a truncated nominating process that didn’t even involve the kind of primary/caucus voting, or the long and winded political process of today. (Remember, Hubert Humphrey was nominated the old fashioned way, through backroom deals and appointed delegates; neither RFK or Gene McCarthy had much of a say over the ultimate process back then. Indeed, you could say that RFK’s run was designed to deflect attention to the success of McCarthy as the “anti-war candidate”.)

And no, Hilary, not even your husband’s “comeback” in 1992 counts either, since Bubba had already wrapped up the Dem nomination by as early as March, dispatching Paul Tsongas during the “Super Tuesday” sweeps; the only issue with the Cali primary was whether then Governor Jerry Brown would play the role as resident “populist” spoiler.

Funny, though, that Hillary is closer to  Jerry Brown in reality than she is to Bill; since she has basically no chance to win the nomination, unless she can somehow intimidate the majority of superdelegates and claim all of the disputed votes in Florida and Michigan as hers.

And that is the entire point of all this mess: a last gasp effort to smear Barack Obama as unelectable for no other reason because he happens to be a Black man (even if only half-Black), and because he got in the way of her coronation and anointment as “The Chosen One”. Pandering to the “working class White Americans” (as if Black folk aren’t quite “working class” enough); parroting right-wing “populist” memes like the “gas tax holiday” and secret fundamentalist group meetings; and never backing away one inch from her support of Bush’s wars….all of that is meant to do nothing more than to preserve her mighty ambition to follow her husband to the ultimate political prize.

And if she manages to so beat down Obama enough to hand the 2008 election to John McBush…..errrrrrrrrr, McCain….on a silver platter; all the better to set herself up as the modern day Joan of Arc which will rise from the swamp to save the Democratic Party in 2010 and 2012.

But that’s not even the worse of it….certainly Hillary Clinton is smart enough to know that Black folk are rightfully afraid of a genuine assassination threat to Obama or any other Black major political official who challenges the dominant political discourse; since it has happened far too often (remember Malcolm X; Martin Luther King, Fred Hampton, COINTELPRO???) OK, so Obama isn’t nearly as radical as these folk, but even the notion of having a person of color not to the right of Clarence Thomas or Alan Keyes even within shouting distance of the White House would be enough in some corners of our nation to give them some….you know, ideas?? Was she asleep when Mike Huckabee ran his “there goes that Barack, running for cover from the gunshots” attempted joke with the NRA Comedy Club earlier this week?? Is she even aware that Obama has been under Secret Service protection due to death threats from as early as March?? Because, if she did manage to think about that for, say, one second before opening her piehole and inserting her leg up to her thigh, the word “assassination” would not have even ventured from her lips.

But then again, if she had thought about that, then she would have seen the reality of her situation and conceded the nomination to Obama a long time ago when it was obvious that she wasn’t going to win.

Instead, she’ll have her lieutenants, Mark Penn and Terry MacAuliffe, paint down on her the rosy scenarios about how she is now ahead in the popular vote (yeah, right, if you exclude states with caucuses only rather than primaries, and throw in Florida and Michigan’s disputed votes all in her corner); how she should be anointed the nominee because “she wins in states Democrats need to win while Obama leads in states that have no chance to go Democrat at all” (but I thought that the idea all along that she would be the candidate to win the “swing states” which didn’t go Democratic at all??); and how she is at the very least deserving of the Vice Presidential slot as a “unifier” who will assuage women voters who don’t like how she has been “bitchified” and bashed (now, she does have a point there about the mass misogyny of some in the media towards her; but how that justifies her “scorched earth” campaign strategy remains subject to debate).

And, she will have her groupies and media wolfhounds (see Taylor Marsh and Susie Madrak, whom has degenerated so rapidly from a fighting progressive to become a simple yes-woman for Hillary) attack the messengers and spin her mistakes around to attempt more smears against Obama for being such an evil person to get in the way of her “historical” candidacy.

Do us all, and especially the Democratic Party, Hillary, a real favor.  Give it up; acknowledge you are beaten; give Barack Obama his well-earned victory..and then disappear for, like a year or five. The way you are going right now, you will be less electable than even he will….and you will drag the Dems down with you into the sewer hole. Considering how low Dubya and the Repubs are at this time, that would be a significant task…..even considering the regularity of Democrats for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Oh, and one other thing: this recent mauling of Keith Olbermann for his righteous and pithy recent Special Comments whacking Hillary for her dense remarks and for her entire strategy is a bit too much.  I find it quite funny that all the newly minted KO haters had no problem applauding him when he busted out the whupping sticks at Dubya and the Republicans for their crimes and scandals and war games…but let him raise his voice one decibel against Hillary’s tactics, and they become like…well, Fixed Noise agents. Sorry, but I didn’t know that he had to gain your approval for thinking for himself…any more than he has to gain BillO’s or Steve Doocy’s.

Doesn’t bother me any, anyway..since as of right now my vote’s still going for McKinney, and I still consider Obama to be a different kind of conservative Democratic opportunist panderer.  But Hillary still deserves all the razzing she gets for running such a horrid campaign….and using Black voters as a stepping stone for her blind personal ambition. Sounds familiar…doesn’t it??

For those of you who think that you are an ally of sex workers, here’s a reality checklist from Renegade Evolution that you might want to read up on. There will be a quiz later on on this.

Some of them aren’t big names. There are writers, bloggers, so on, out there who like to say or think they are allies, but they aren’t. Being an ally has some guidelines, after all. I mean, let us look at this logically and such:

-If you support anything that might endanger the health of a sex worker, you are not an ally.
-If you support anything which might affect the legal standing, legal rights, and legal recourses of a sex worker, you are not an ally.
-If you actively seek to silence the words of sex workers, you are not an ally.
-If you advocate anything that impedes progress for sex workers rights, you are not an ally.
-If you support anything that keeps sex workers engaging in business in unsafe, criminalized, unregulated conditions, you are not an ally.
-If you infringe upon or disrupt a sex worker’s ability to earn a living, you are not an ally.
-If you patronize, mock, insult, judge, presume to speak for, speak over, lie about, threaten, slander, hack, make assumptions about, or belittle sex workers, you are not an ally.
-If you refuse to alter your terminology to suit terms sex workers prefer, you are not an ally.
-If you refuse to recognize sex work extends beyond street prostitution, you are not an ally.
-If you refuse to recognize the humanity of sex workers, you are not an ally.
-If you refuse to recognize many sex works are adults with a level of autonomy, you are not an ally.
-If you refuse to recognize that many people in sex work would choose other options if they were available, you are not an ally.
-If you actually do nothing to help sex workers in the here and now, you are not an ally.
-If you take on a savior, superior attitude towards sex workers, you are not an ally.
-If you use sex workers words, images, ideas, writings, or experiences without their consent or knowledge, you are not an ally.
-If you use sex workers to further your wider agenda or goal without their consent, you are not an ally.

Got it? Hey, you might pass the “you’re not a feminist if” tests, but if you fail here, you are no fucking ally to sex workers.

Well….Nina Hartley’s website Nina.com is now officially back on line, after two weeks of being shut down after the hacking by those Islamic cyberterrorists. (Warning, Link NSFW)

As promised by Ernest, the free forums was a casualty of the upgrade; they will not be brought back. Ernest and Nina are currently working on creating an alternative means of interaction with her fans.

In the meantime, there’s been some flare up from some sources over the targeting of adult websites by these Islamic fundamentalist hackers. When Ernest posted over at BPPA his reflections on the motives of the hackings and how Nina is a target of a variety of ideologically diverse groups (from the antiporn radfems to Islamic fundies to the Christian Right) for her sex-positive feminist beliefs; a commentor from the right-wing libertarian blog Ace of Spades decided to lay into Ernest for apparantly slandering Christians while ignoring the real threat of “Islamacists”. Quoting a comment from the original BPPA thread:

“As usual, those on the left — here, the sexual left — can only spend a bit of time criticizing jihadists before rushing headlong to criticize those they really hate, “right wing Christian fundamentalists.” It really makes no goddamn sense. You’ve just been unlawfully harassed and cyber-attacked by Turkish jihadists, so of course you want to direct as much of your fire as possible towards people who didn’t do anything to you, besides criticize you, which is also their right as Americans.

“I find the left to be wearying and childish on this point. Their efforts to be even-handed against “all extremists” is not even-handed at all. They wind up classing those who haven’t done anything particular untoward with those who are actually illegally attacking them… which merely spares the culpable parties their proper measure of blame by dividing the load among the blameless.”

In short, they should wipe “Islamacists” — fundamentalist or not — from the face of the earth.

Never mind the slander on all who practice Islam — the same slander from whence the Iraq War and atrocities like the Fallujah massacre and the Abu Gharib prison, never mind the ethnic cleansing of Gaza and the Occupied Territories) are born; or the arroganct attitude that cultural progressives should somehow accept “second class” citizenship behind their Christian “superiors” who basically “tolerate” them….

Of course, Ernest dispatches such bullshit with his usual clarity and depth:

For your information, our site had previously been attacked, trolled, hacked and harassed by a variety of right-wing religious extremists prior to the most recent incident. You can take whatever pride you like in having been at the head of the line when it came to trying to shout us down.

It is also your side that does its level best to put us in jail on obscenity charges, pressures government and private businesses to use all possible means toward the aim of making what we do impossible, supports “regulations” that would prohibit constitutionally protected expression by circumventing the First Amendment under the guise of mitigating so-called “secondary effects,” and on and on and on. -No major religious faith is a friend to people involved in the Sex Biz, so really, it is safe to assume from the get-go that those of us who are in it will be skeptical of you. We have reason. A lot of legislation that makes our lives not only harder, but also more dangerous, has been rallied for and passed into law mostly due to the very loud voices of various Religious Right (ahem, Christian) organizations and Radical Leaning Feminists (which hey, is the oddest alliance I can think of, but I guess it works). -Oh, and if you’re going to come here to talk or debate or what have you, sure, welcome, but save the insults on looks, brains, politics, whatever for other places. And the whole sex workers are all abuse victims/dumb/brain dead/retarded/junkie/at the mercy of a pimp crap? Don’t play that here.

Then…..Dubya decides to use the anniversary of Israel’s founding to attempt to smack down Barack Obama as the second coming of Neville Chamberlain playing “appeasement” to the modern-day “Nazis” called Hamas. And McCain decides to join in on the fun with his own slam. Which only results in doing what not even the Democratic Party appratus couldn’t do for all of three months: unite Obama and Hillary and Howard Dean and John Kerry and even Joe Biden (who called it “bullshit”) together in universal outrage.

And to make things so much better, the Repubs send a dimwit wingnutter to attempt to sell this “Obama = Chamberlain” meme on Chris Matthews’ Hardball…which only gets him smacked down hard by the host. And considering Tweety’s….ummmm, respect for McCain, you gotta go pretty low to earn that.

You care about sex workers so much that you oppose them having legal rights, better working conditions, access to condoms, equal treatment under the law, and actively decry anyone who works for these things as pimps, liars, or enablers. Oh, and you care about the ones who say what you want to hear, until they stop, then, you toss them aside and slander them. Hell, most of you won’t even call them sex workers even if they repeatedly say that is what they prefer to be called!

Well, we also don’t support drug dealers, bank robbery, embezzlement, arson, murder and a host of other things even tho women do them. Oh! How rude of feminists not to support all the choices of women!

So…having consensual sex with willing men and women with compensation, and actively being concerned about their well being and protection, is now on the same plane with murder, arson, and “drug dealing”. How very feminist of you, Lucky.

Actually, I’d say that Lucky would consider sex work to be WORSE than arson or murder or even drug dealing, because of its explicitly sexual nature, and because it encourages the EVOL MALE GAZE and THE COCK, which, if I catch her meaning, is the main source of women’s oppression. Thusly, even arson (directed at adult bookstores) and murder (disguised as state sanctioned “death penalty” toward “porn users”) would be justified as a means of the elimination of said oppression. And last time I checked, Ren was a fully-abled citizen with no criminal record.

Certain Feminists: Porn Causes Rape No, rapists cause rape.

Well, no, porn is not the cause. Men are the cause. But porn most certainly does contribute to rape. Just consider it gas being poured on an already raging fire. Serial killers have admitted that porn played a major role in their rape, torture and murder of women. But you’re going to deny it? So I’m curious. How do you manage to breathe with your head so far up your ass? Scuba gear?

Now, I will ignore the “men are the cause” smack (and the not-so-thin implication that all men who have erections at the sight of scantily clad or naked women willingly performing consensual sex acts for or with them is the equivalent to rape), and go straight to the attempt by Lucky to play the “Ted Bundy” card from the bottom of her stacked deck. First off, most serial killers tend to be masters of manipulation and deception in the first place (that’s why they become “serial” killers to begin with). Secondly, they tend to be pretty much deeply sexually repressed people who act out their rages at those whom they are attracted to. And finally, they tend to target people in already stigmatized groups which do not have the cultural or political power to defend themselves….that would usually mean, they target prostitutes, sex workers, and those who fit the “slut” stereotype. You know…THE VERY DAMN PEOPLE THAT LUCKY WOULD THROW UNDER THE BUS AS INSUFFICIENTLY “FEMINIST”.

Oh…and not even Ted Bundy, for all his manipulation, even came close to outrightly blaming porn for his rages; it was that great radical feminist sympathizer Rev. James Dobson (who just so happened to interview Bundy at his Death Row cell) who egged Bundy to the “porn caused his killings” theory…..and we all know that Jim Dobson has really no hidden agendas, right??

Certain Feminists: We listen to the needs of women/sex workers.

Depends on what the needs are. See above about drug dealing, bank robbery, arson, etc.

Certain Feminists: Well, you can’t count on the word of women with a vested interest in the sex industry!

Well, that’s a little like asking an alcoholic why he drinks.

Yeah..because anyone who doesn’t fall head first into Lucky’s ideology is automatically spit out as either an ignorant “sex bot”/”cumdumpster” or a “paid agent of the patriarchy”…besides, we know that the real motive is to shame the alcoholic/sex worker into quitting for his/her own good and that of society. But, please, we won’t put her in jail….that’s just reserved for the “johns” and “pimps” who “use” her.

It also sets you up nicely to play a patronizing game of Mother Knows Best, by your own rules of course…

As opposed to what you advocate? Father knows best? Hey, do you think if you kiss daddy’s ass enough, he’ll save yours? So what do you think you’ll be doing in a couple of years when men consider you an old, haggard, washed up, used up has-been, and toss you to the side of the road like a used up rag doll? Or do you think with enough plastic surgery maybe men won’t notice and you can pretend you’re 18 forever?

Oh, Lucky, Lucky, Lucky…why did you have to go THERE??? For the record, Ren Ev is in her middle 30s, and is long past the usual age of which it is assumed that porn girls and prostitutes are “washed up.” Plus, she has DEGREES and stuff, which means that she will probably find a way to expand her already copious brain cells. Not to mention, she saves her money for the future.

Also..considering the most recent trending of most popular porn towards the “MILF/Cougar” brand of more mature, experienced, and assertive women, I’m guessing that Ren and other middle-aged women will not be trolling for work any time soon. Ask Nina Hartley….or Vanessa del Rio.

Me thinks that Lucky should be a bit more concerned with what will happen when most women see her ideology for the sexist, erotophobic, rancid bullshit that it is, and begin abandoning HER and her “sisters” in droves.

P.S. Stop calling yourself a feminist. You’re about as feminist as my brother’s left nut. I mean, you could sit in a garage and call yourself a car and all, but that doesn’t make you one, now does it?

Trust me on this. No one will mistake you for a feminist. You can bullshit your parents, you can bullshit your friends, you can bullshit the world. But do yourself a favor and stop bullshitting yourself, ok?

Ahhh, but how soon you forget, Lucky: Ren never considered herself a “feminist”, in fact, she’s pretty much written off the word as describing herself (that what “expatriarte” means, you know).

The real issue here, though, is how LUCKY not only considers herself a “feminist”, but decides all for herself to rid all other women who don’t follow the GenderBorg party line should not be considered to be “feminists”. Considering the kind of “feminism” that Lucky sells, I’d say that Ren’s on the right track.

And we all know from her previous smack how much of an expert on bullshit Lucky is…now do we???

Luckynickl is a feminist the way David Duke is a civil rights activist. Enough said on her.

It took a bit longer than I thought it would, but I did manage to get my home Internet access back this morning…..so it’s all back to close to normal.

Oh, well….you learn from your mistakes.

Off to work I go…and then I will be playing catch-up for the week I missed.

Update (5-9-08):  Grrrr…had to wait a bit longer for the funds to go through, and the cable place is closed on weekends. It will be more like Monday before I can get back on line.  Oh, well….

To explain why I haven’t been blogging or surfing of late:

I’ve ran into some slight financial difficulties which caught up with me lately, to the point that I have temporarily lost my home Internet connection (I am blogging this post right now from my public library). I am in the process of getting my funds in order so that I can reconnect; and all should be back on by later today or tomorrow.

It just sucks to know that you can miss so much when you are offline….especially on your freakin’ birthday (which was yesterday).

‘Ya think that all it takes to succeed as a male porn performer is merely to show off photos of your erection to every porn girl message board or adult social website or blog??

Well, buddy…you need to get your ass over to Renegade Evolution’s blog RIGHT FREAKING NOW and read Ernest Greene’s guest entry on the realities of being a male sex performer.  It’s long, but it is worth the time.

And when you are done, please try to tell me that the men who do sex work aren’t any less WORKERS who deserve as much respect and support as any coal miner, any domestic worker, any construction worker…indeed, ANY working man.  That they use their penises as much as their hands and other muscles of their bodies makes no difference.

That we supposedly workers’ right activists exclude female sex workers from our progressive working-class movements is criminal.  That we exclude the men who work with them is downright freakin’ INSANE…and absolutely SUICIDAL.

Just another reason why sex-negativity and not including sex radicalism KILLS the Left.
