Ralph Nader At The Hands Of Some Angry Dimocrats
Democrats for the Leisure Class, F' the Dimocrats, Love Me...I'm A Liberal...NOT!!, Nothing But The Smack, Political Smackdown! February 24th, 2008
Well….did I or did I not say that Ralph Nader’s announcement today of yet another run for the Presidency of these United States of America would bring the usual Democratic Party loyalists out to fricasse him for his alleged crime of 2000 (i.e., getting Dubya elected)??
Some comments stemming from the Raw Story article:
Mr.Nader-
For the good of the country, please just go away.
You already screwed the country back in 2000 when you essentially took enough votes away from Gore to give us the Bush disaster.
Now you want to make McCain the new president? How dare you.
Actually, he didn’t, since Gore actually WON that particular election, only to have the Florida shenanigans and the US Supreme Court snatch it away from him…but who cares about the facts when you are this pissed??
Ralph Nader is an egomaniac. I know none of his supporters in 2000 that are with him still. So again he will make a fool of himself. He is going about this all wrong. He was a democrat once and if he is pissed off at democrats, then he only has himself to blame for running from the party instead of staying in it and holding his ground. Has fine people like Kucinich, Gravel and other progressives left the party? No! They stay and hold their ground. And of course Nader will exclaim: “Oh, the media doesn’t show me or give me air time!” Good! He doesn’t deserve it!
Oh, yeah….McCain has a temper, and Obama’s an empty shell…but it’s all Nader’s fault???
Ho-hum. What a sad, pathetic little man. Sorry Ralphie, you’ll be less than insignificant this time around. Still, you’ll be getting all that Repuke money, so that’s less they’ll be spending on John “I did not have relations with that lobbyist” McCain.
What a revolting vial man. The net result of his self rightious crusade is death death and destruction in Iraq along with the deterioration of freedom in the USA.
Yup…which makes him fundamentally different than Obama and McCain, who will immediately withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan right after they are sworn in, right??? (Oh…and it’s “vile”, not “vial”.)
Hey, Ralph: Thanks for sticking us with eight years of the Worst President Ever. Since “hope” seems to be the watchword of the 2008 campaign, let us “hope” Ralph Nader gets run over by a Corvair before he can do any more damage.
Yeah, let’s hope he dies so that Obama can get the Presidency and cause more harm….that’s the ticket.
this sort of crap should be illegal. IF the shithead wants to REALLY run for president WHY can’t he do it like NORMAL people and start his campaign when everyone else does? not this last minute bullshit who I can take votes away from crap total bullshit go back to your couch you old fool
And then there are some who take it that much more personal:
Fucking Nader is nothing more than a wonk-eyed, repuklican, closet fag who cares nothing for the country. Any Ron Paul supporters who vote for this sick fuck are traitors as well
If I were Nader, and I knew I was responsible for the train wreck that is Bushco, I would climb the nearest tall building and splatter what little brains I had all over the sidewalk. What a friggin putzface…
Yeah, even the Paul groupies hate Nader’s guts……BTW, Paulies, how does it feel now that your demigod has kicked you in the shins and announced that he won’t run as an Independent for President anymore?? I guess that all that antiwar stuff was just a ploy to raise money for his reelection, and he’s now going back into the Republican fold?? So sorry, folks.
At least some people had the cojones to come out and defend Nader’s right to participate in the democratic process. To with, this comment from some handsome guy with a kick-ass blog:
I just love this….it just never fails.
One last time, people:
Ralph Nader did NOT lose the 2000 election for you Democrats; Al Gore did plenty of that all by himself both (1) by running a terrible campaign; (2) by having Joe Lieberman as his VP candidate; and (3) by not doing enough to challenge the electoral shenanigans in Florida.
Nor did Ralph Nader lose the 2004 election for you Democrats, either; John Kerry did just as good a job of losing it himself with his “me, too” candidacy and his refusal to resist the “Swift Boat” liars.
And guess what?? Ralph Nader won’t lose the election for you this year, either. Considering how deep in the tank the Repubs are, and the supposed power of Obamamania sweeping the nation; I’d think that it wouldn’t really matter if he entered the race or not. If Obama or Hillary do manage to lose, it will be on their own efforts, not that of Nader or McKinney or Paul or Paulsen or whomever decides to run as an independent.
But….if you insist on your baiting of Nader as a “spoiler”, then who am I to stop you??
It is still legal for candidates to be independent and not just crawl to the Democrats as a weak alternative to the Republicans. Either relax and rejoice; or just deal with it.
Anthony
Pretty respectful, right??
Look of what I got in return:

OF COURSE IT TAKES SEVERAL FACTORS TO LOOSE AN ELECTION THAT GAVE US THE WORST PRES IN US HISTORY. ONE OF WHICH WERE THE VOTES WASTED ON NADER.
Uh, huh. Because it takes a party who’s symbol happens to be an ass to smack down someone who criticizes them as “ASSTHONY”. And of course, the votes for Nader were only “wasted”..not like the votes for Gore which were equally “wasted” by a candidate who ran a poor campaign and didn’t even attempt to defend himself and his voters.
Like I’ve been saying, I would have rather that Ralph stepped aside and supported Cynthia McKinney’s bid for the Green Party candidacy, which I consider to be much more effective in the long run. But, he has as much a right to express his political differences and run a campaign as anyone else does; and anyone who causes this much indegestion and diarrhea of the mouth among so many Democrats must have something going for him. So I say, “Run, Nader, run…just keep a close distance from Cynthia’s exhaust.”
